An interview with both of the actors after the last filming day
RECORDING
It was my last moment in the UK. I was waiting between long rows of cars with my bike fully packed. We are waiting to enter the boat to the Netherlands. I have become used to it, no one cycles in the winter around here. But after a while, a woman appairs next to me, also with a fully packed bike. Her name is Rachel, and we started talking. She was coming back from a bike trip, to have some time alone. She has been getting angry in the last couple of year, with regard to the climate crisis. I was on a different path, trying to find stories with nuance, no bad guys, so I could not get to angry and frustrated. She told me she has been trough that phase as well, as she described it. Always keeping a journalistic perspective. But now she is done with the nuance. She works in the University of Wageningen, but has been finding her passion for music back again after being sick for 3 years. We kept in contact, and she offert to write a song for me, inspired on the film. We recorded it together in Kerkrade, where she was passing anyways on another bike ride.

WINDS OF CHANGE

WATCH IN MY SCETCH BOOK
After a talk at a cafe in Shetland, Renzo was enthusiastic about my project and collaborated fully voluntarily. I am so honoured that he wanted to do this with me. During the editing phase, we had many calls, talking about the soundscape and how it could translate the feeling of each participant's scene. He mainly used sounds from Shetlands nature, and that's also why I asked him.
